Congratulations to CHS Senior Ethan Ray who has signed his National Letter of Intent to play football at the University of Mount Union in the fall! Ethan signed his letter in the high school gym on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, surrounded by family, friends, coaches, and school administrators. “I am so relieved to finally make my choice official and can’t wait to continue my academic and athletic career at Mount Union,” Ethan said after putting pen to paper. 

At Champion, Ethan was a three-year letterman for the Varsity football team playing both sides of the ball. Over his career, he saw time at center, guard, and defensive tackle, and served as the special team’s long snapper. He received first-team All-MVAC Conference honors and honorable mention Northeast Ohio District honors during the 2023 season. At Mount Union, Ethan says he’s ready to work in whatever position he’s put in, adding he knows the coaches will take care of him. “The coaches were very welcoming during the recruiting process,” Ethan recalled. “Between the facility, the academics, and the people, Mount Union just felt like it was home to me. I’m excited to be there.”

Ethan plans to pursue a Human Resource Management degree while at Mount Union. Congratulations, Ethan!
